Manal Ibrahim, D.D.S.

After completing her undergraduate studies in Bioengineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Manal Ibrahim attended the College of Dentistry, where she received extensive training in dentistry. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Dentistry and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. Dr. Ibrahim then completed a three year training program in full mouth reconstruction and obtained an Advanced Combined Prosthodontics Certificate. She practiced aesthetic, restorative, prosthetic and implant dentistry for several years as a board eligible prosthodontist while consulting for a globally recognized dental company. She conducted numerous national and international lectures and research around the world on this topic. Later, she would focus her attention on the art of orthodontics and devote her private practice to this field.

Dr. Ibrahim continued her training and earned an Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics Certificate from the New York University College of Dentistry. During her time at the university, she served as a Course Instructor in the Invisalign Training Program and the Introduction to Orthodontics, as well as a clinical instructor for dental students. Dr. Ibrahim also conducted research while at NYU and published a very significant article titled "Assessing the Influence of the Interdental Papilla Length on the Perception of Aesthetics.”

Due to her unique background in aesthetics, prosthetics, implants and orthodontics, Dr. Ibrahim has the ability to treat patients presenting with any degree of complexity. She is an American Board Certified Orthodontist, an American Board Qualified Prosthetic Dentist and an Invisalign Premier Provider. She practiced Orthodontics at Archer Dental Care, Grove Dental Associates and Michigan Avenue Dental Associates in the Chicago area before opening her own private practice, Innovative Orthodontic Centers, PC, in June 2006.

Dr. Ibrahim stays abreast of the latest advances in orthodontics with memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwest Society of Orthodontists and the Illinois Society of Orthodontists. She holds various committee positions with the American College of Prosthodontics and is on the Alumni Association Board of Directors with the University of Illinois. Dr. Ibrahim also maintains memberships with the American College of Prosthodontics, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics, American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society and the Illinois State Dental Society.

Dr. Ibrahim and her husband, Dr. Anthony Lavacca, got married at Navy Pier in 2002 and love to travel, scuba dive and go biking. Dr. Lavacca is also a prosthetic dentist and they enjoy sharing dentistry together as a hobby and a profession. They also have two wonderful sons, Vincent who was born in August of 2005 and Angelo who was born on Valentines Day in 2007. Every free second they have, they love spending time with their amazing family & friends!
